Nobody turned up on a Sunday morning at 10.30 outside Cardiff Central station. Nobody was answering the phone at the Cardiff office...I rang for over an hour. I rang their central booking office and the response I got was that it was nothing to do with him as he only took bookings and didn't sort problems out. He eventually relented, after much audible tutting and huffing to call the Cardiff Bay office, where he also couldn't get an answer. He said to get a taxi and claim the money back.
Got a £9 taxi to the office in Morrisons where I claimed the £9 back. The guy at the desk said that I had booked too late the evening before, and they knew nothing about my booking. They had no car for me until somebody returned with one.
He said that their booking system booked out cars regardless as to whether they had any or not.
I finally got a Corsa a while later. I said I needed a bigger car, that was why I booked an Astra. He said to come back in 2 hours. Still no bigger car, come back in another 2 hours.. Finally gave up 6 hours after I should have picked up the car
......Roll on 10 days....time to drop off the car. I wasn't confident of this going well, and was proven right. Nobody appeared at 11.00 outside the station. Nobody was answering the phone...missed my train.
Got through to their central office...they couldn't get through too. Not answering on the office or personal phone. Some time later, I actually got through to someone who said they would come in 10 minutes. When they came they thought I was picking up a car, and had nobody to drive the rental car back to their office.
He said I needed to drive to the office, and he would drive me back to the station.
I showed him my print off of the booking, which clearly stated the pick up and drop off as the rear of Cardiff Central station. He said tje paperwork was wrong, and it didn't work like this...he took photos of the paperwork.
Absolute shambles from start to finish. I wasn't the only person to have to get a taxi down there, I saw a few while waiting. It seems they have a policy of not answering phones, knowing that if you need any service, you will have to go to their office, saving them the bother of actually fulfilling their part of the contract.
So in summary...the absolute worst shambles of a company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with!...the invoice is due soon...I wonder if they will invoice me for the cheaper car...I doubt it !!!
